We use our experience with streaming video to save you time, money & procedural delays – but most importantly we save you the hassle of organizing the technology needed to ensure that your witness testimony goes smoothly and reliably.Why Videoconference…Courtroom Videoconferencing is used, whenever appropriate, to reduce inconvenience to witnesses who may be in a remote location, to testify at courtroom proceedings and facilitate the timely progress of cases. It cuts down on travel costs as well as wasted time for both the legal firm as well as the witness, making for a much more compliant and cooperative witness. Through the use of cameras, computers and other equipment, our videoconferencing service allows parties, who are not in the same room/community/city/country, to engage in simultaneous audio-visual communications. Why Mediastreams…Our videoconferencing service cuts down costs as well as time-inconvenience for an in-person appearance by the witness. While basic videoconferencing equipment can be booked at various courthouses through Court Services, it may not be available at locations other than the actual courthouses themselves. This presents a challenge to the witnesses who are then expected to make a special trip to a courthouse at a time not of their choosing, in order to testify. We have purposely kept our technology relatively low-tech not just to cut down on your costs but mainly in order to ensure service reliability & technological compliance. Setup at the witness location: Our service sends an expert technician along with all the necessary video & computer equipment to the witness’ office or even home. They then set up and even test all the equipment well before the scheduled appearance time, making sure that there are no hiccups or delays and that the witness can now testify ‘in person’. All we need at the location is a high-speed Internet connection which most homes and offices already have (and if we know in advance, we can even manage without a physical Internet connection). Setup in the courtroom: Our local technical expert will be in attendance throughout the testimony(s) to take care of any technical eventuality that may arise. They will arrive well in advance to set up the audio-video and computer equipment, along with speakers, projector and projection display to display the witness' communication audio-visually. All we need is a wired, high-speed Internet connection (cable or ADSL modem) in the courtroom. In a pinch, we can even use any available wireless Internet connection (though that is not as smooth) and if no connection is available we have the ability to use our own 3G cellular network for a small extra charge. The Benefit of Our ServiceImproved cost effectiveness of services. Videoconferencing can help reduce or avoid much unnecessary expense since witness appearances now occurs at reduced cost and with greater certainty. Avoiding travel for witnesses, the party, co-counsel or judges not only reduces the costs of proceedings but conducting a scheduled videoconference eliminates most obstacles to case completion while providing better and more convenient access for witnesses who might even need to be protected. How to Book a VideoconferenceBooking:Simply request our service by filling out our request form which outlines dates, times, equipment requirements and other details. Make sure you have Judicial approval to use this technology in each specific court proceeding. This is generally not a problem since most judges today are very familiar with the reliability of this technology. Payment:Payment is due at the time of booking the service – it is fully refundable if the date is cancelled 10 business days or more before the scheduled date. If cancellation occurs within the 10 business day period, a 15% cancellation charge is applied. The requesting party – i.e. counsel on behalf of their clients are responsible for paying all charges for videoconferencing and also for paying for any charges associated with booking any private facility for the witness to testify should they feel it is necessary.
